LED Light Effect on Arduino Uno

Hey guys! Today I will be sharing my first (worthy of a blog post) Arduino project with you.

If you don’t know what Arduino is, Arduino is an open-source microcontroller board for building and prototyping electronics project.

The circuit is below.

Sorry for the shaky camera.

So I have four wires going from pins 2-6 to the breadboard. Then I have resistors connected to the led’s negative (long) leg. Then from each of the LED’s positive (short) legs, I have wires going to a single ground wire on the Arduino.

Here is the code:

int timer = 90;
void setup() {
  for(int thisPin = 2; thisPin < 8; thisPin++) {
    pinMode(thisPin,OUTPUT);
  }
}
void loop() {
  for(int thisPin = 2; thisPin < 8; thisPin++) {
    digitalWrite(thisPin,HIGH);
    delay(timer);
    digitalWrite(thisPin,LOW);
    delay(timer);
  }
  for(int thisPin = 7; thisPin >= 2; thisPin--) {
    digitalWrite(thisPin,HIGH);
    delay(timer);
    digitalWrite(thisPin,LOW);
    delay(timer);
  }
}

Enjoy!

Welcome back!

Hey guys! It’s been a long and busy school year, so I couldn’t post anything. Now it’s finally summer and I have lots of fun activities planned. My grandparents are coming over and we have a few trips planned. I’ve received an Arduino Uno and I’ll blog about every project I do for those of you electronic enthusiasts.

Welcome to Minne”snow”ta!

Seriously, 3 feet of snow on the ground. Every morning I wake up, and do you know what I see? Snow. I’m tired of this. I remember my enthusiasm on the first snowfall of the season. Now I’ve had enough of it. I don’t want snow anymore. This type of weather has almost affected all of the United States. Atlanta almost shut down because of two inches. Welcome to Minnesota’s world.

Just a quick thought…

One time, I heard on the news that the destruction of the Metrodome in Minneapolis took 7.1 seconds. They also said that the construction of the new stadium will take 2 years. Then I started to think. Why aren’t people more constructive? The entire human race was for creating things. They’ve got all these high-tech explosive to quickly destroy things, but no systems for building things that quickly. We’ve gotten better, but we haven’t advanced in the field of construction as rapidly as destructive technologies.

A video of the destruction:
